I’ve had a fantastic year, and I’ve really enjoyed setting up and working on the blog over the last 12 months.
One of the goals I had when I started the year was to post at least 52 blog entries, which I’ve just about managed to achieve.
Here’s a round up of five of the most notable posts this year:
1. Wedding Wine Tasting
As well as drinking and eating far too much, I also managed to find time to get married this year.
I got married at Denbies Wine Estate and took part in many fun wine tastings to choose wine for the wedding. There were also wine-themed gifts – I’m looking forward to using the new carafe on New Years Eve!
2. Lanzarote
I had a great time in Lanzarote this year, and learned about the interesting way they manage to make wine in what is a challenging climate to do so.
I am very much looking forward to returning to this fabulous island next year.
3. Lake Como
For my honeymoon my new wife and I spent a few days in Lake Como. Certainly a very beautiful and romantic place, with insanely pretty buildings and scenery.
The Italians certainly have style.
4. Madrid
Madrid is a superb destination for any foodie – here’s my top 10 tips for a weekend in this lively city.
5. Iceland
I finally got to visit Iceland this year, and I found out about their relatively recent love of beer whilst sheltering from the arctic conditions.
A Dry Start to 2018
After Christmas I have a little break to Bruges where I’ll be stuffing my face with waffles, beer and chocolate.
I’ve also got lots of exciting trips booked throughout 2018, but instead of ‘Tryanuary it’s probably a good idea for me to start the year with a dry month with London Marathon training in mind and to lose those festive pounds!
