Hidden Gems: The Dovetail – A Belgian Beer Cafe in London

May 24, 2017 | Beer

The Dovetail is one of those little known bars in London which quickly became a firm favourite of mine. I go here when I am in the mood for Belgian beer and that euro vibe.

Tucked away in an alley off Clerkenwell road, this tiny den of Belgian beer boasts one of the more authentic experiences in the capital with rapid table service.

There’s lots of classic beer on draught to choose from and an extensive menu of bottled Trappist and Abbey beers. Paddles of four draught ales can be bought as well as a selection of food.

Although wise to eat grub, what with the strength of the beer on offer, you don’t really visit this bar for the food.  You go for Delirium Tremens and Pauwel Kwak on tap and many Trappist ales.

Next time I go, I might just see if they have Wesvleteren 12 available, often quoted as one of the best beers in the world.

Address: 9-10 Jerusalem Passage, Clerkenwell, London EC1V 4JP

A Visit to Diddly Squat Farm Shop

After Improssibrew present their beers on Dragon’s Den, I decided to try it for myself to see if this so-called ‘social blend’ worked.
