During some home renovations I discovered a secret stash of some interesting old beer mats whilst clearing out the loft.
I’ve no idea how long they’d been up there, but I’ve decided to keep them and add to the fledgling collection.
Tegestology is defined as the practise of collection beer mats, so perhaps I’ll become a true tegestologist, in time.
Here’s a few interesting beer mats from the collection:
- Harvey’s in Lewes
- Old Heineken Beer Mat
- Younger’s IPA
- Deverish Cornish Best Bitter
- This Charrington IPA is even called a bitter
- Unusual Heineken Beer Mat
- King & Barnes was acquired by Hall & Woodhouse (Badger)
- William Yonuger’s Scotch Bitter
- Unusual to see a Barley Wine in a beer mat
- Everything was called a bitter back in the day..
- Ansells Bitter. Still made by JW Lees.
- Stones Best Bitter
- Gales was bought by Fuller’s
- Ind Coope’s Burton Ale
- Cameson’s Best Bitter
- Strongarm – Strong Northern Ale
- Ace of Clubs – Special Ale
- Trophy Bitter
- Tetley Mild
